This was another area that I spotted on topo maps, and finally the opportunity came up to see it in person. I walked from Walhachin to Savona. 
The tracks use this causeway to cross an oxbow lake (remember your high school geography class?), with the Thompson River up against the slope in the background. (Given the topography of the area, it is actually quite unusual that such a lake would form in the first place.)
So, another manifest train heading west with lumber up front.
