Caption: Sd40-2 6018 is in off a work train for some needed repairs. It's spotted on the track where GE engine overhauls are performed. That's a GE air compressor in front of it's rear truck and the engine lifting device on the adjacent track on a trolley.

    I’m 95% sure this old girl was on switcher duty up here in Sudbury for the last 3+ months, until this past week when she dissappeared amd was replaced by an SD60. Guess this solves that question!

    You are right Colm it was in Sudbury, that’s just the lingo I hear mentioned about these SD’s that they’re used mainly for work trains.

    I have seen them in recent years powering all sorts of assignments so they aren’t exclusively on work trains iirc
