A Conrail transfer from the US lead by a pair of former EL Geeps crosses the International Bridge into Fort Erie in July of 1976, passing by the old station. It's three months since Conrail had been formed from a handful of bankrupt eastern railroads, and mixed power in their former owner's colours (often unpatched and not yet renumbered) was very common. Lead EMD GP7 unit Erie Lackawanna 1200, originally built for the Erie Railroad in 1950, would be patched and renumbered to Conrail 5930 by the next year, to match the hybrid PRR-NYC numbering system that Conrail adopted. Note the old classic "barrel headlight" it still sported, along with spark arrestors on the roof.
