For anyone slightly confused, why would the “London Pickup” be at Milton?…this was before the days of the London Pickup assignments between Quebec St & Guelph Jct. This was a pool job that ran out of Agincourt whenever traffic warranted. 2 nicknames I recall for this job among pool crews: “the Puke Up”, “the glorified Shorts” which referred to the fsct the train was made up of scars for Woodstock,Galt,Guelph Jct etc, with a block of London & Chathams ahead of the van. I’ve worked “pickups” where the whole train was for London, the whole train was shorts & one time, the whole train was 30 cars for Woodstock.
