Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) GP9 179 undergoes some emergency traction motor repairs near the location of the CN roundhouse at Stratford Yard. The winter of 1993-1994 was a brutal one for GEXR's fleet of second-hand GP9’s and by early February, most were either out of service or severely ailing, which forced RailTex to lease power or transfer from their other operations.
