After admiring David Vincent's fantastic over/under catch from New Year's Eve, I realized I had a shot with a similar angle in my slide collection. Here is a "before" shot from October 1979, of CN #387 making its way to Sarnia. That's a GTW open autorack behind the power, followed by a Missouri Pacific 60' auto parts boxcar.

There are quite a few changes to note over the past 41 years - obviously the sumac thickets have given way to young trees. Clearly the bridge has not been painted in that time, since that one line of vulgar graffiti was there in '79 and is still there today.

  1. Incredible! Looks like this could be an entry for the time machine!

  2. That’s what I was thinking. The pole line at right in this shot is still visible through the trees in your shot.
