Trillium (or is it GIO now - honestly I am not even sure) 108 rolls by the future home of their two-bay engine house (that will fit four units I am told). They've been parking the power at Feeder since the Spring, and I was told the build of this engine facility was to have been completed by now, so I can't really speak to the timing of when it will even start at this point. Before this they'd parked their power by Atlas Steel in Welland, where the deadline still makes its home. The ties, coming to Trillium off of CP, will be dropped near SLM in Welland and unloaded by the section crew, and the boxcars will continue on to St. Catharines.

  1. Thanks James for the info on the Engine house, kind of surprised they would make that kind of investment, you would think there would be somewhere to shelter some locos in Welland/Port ?? …and nice photo !

  2. Nice shot. I saw the cleared area back in the summer and wondered what was up. Now I know. Interesting. Thanks for the info.

  3. Thanks guys. And glad I could help shed some light on that. :)

  4. SHED .. some light on it.. punny

  5. And for the record, it’s Trilium Railway as the operator, a subsidiary of GIO Rail Holdings.

It’s interesting that this shed hasn’t progressed any further.. in fact it would seem they are making more permanent changes at Feeder instead.

Lastly the locomotives have all been sold to SLM recycling. They seem to be holding on to them for now.

  6. The engine shed ideas are no more. I think Trillium has given up on it.
