Definitely an interesting train for its time, CP train 142 originally 741 I believe was a unit train of truck frames that ran between a stamping plant in St. Thomas and the large General Motors plant in Oshawa. The loaded eastbound trip was certainly more photo worthy than its empty westbound counterpart. Unfortunately its relatively early morning run made it somewhat hard to get unless my work shift worked in my favour. Over the years the motive power changed from MLW slug sets, to GP9's, GP38's and GP40's. Sadly truck production ended GM years ago killing 142/141 in the process. Since then the GM plant has closed down completely and CP has spun off the St. Thomas subdivision to the OSR. This day CP GP40-2 4656 (ex Guilford/B&M) and a GP9U are in charge as they enter the double track CTC control at Guelph Junction.
