January 14, 1967 was a special day for fans of the Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway, as the Upper Canada Railway Society ran an excursion covering TH&B and NYC lines (NYC owning 73% of the TH&B, CPR the other 27%) in Southern Ontario, and included utilizing an NYC GP9 on the point. Here, the train crests the grade at Summit near Copetown on the Waterford Subdivision on the first leg of the trip from Hamilton - Waterford. From there, the train will run east on the NYC's CASO to Welland, where it will turn back west on the TH&B going Welland - Hamilton.Bill Thomson was standing just across the tracks from Doug here.More Waterford Sub at Copetown:B&O on the steel train, Arnold Mooney, November 1983.Chessie at Highway 99, Arnold Mooney, November 1983.Chessie at Highway 52, Arnold Mooney, November 1983.Westbound C424s, Arnold Mooney, December 1983.Sunny steel train by the muskeg, Dave Stowe, April 1984.Doug Page Photo, Bruce Acheson Collection Slide.
