CN 3006 is the sole power on an all-container CN X421 (with either 196 or 194 axles - forgive me, I forget the count) on the Grimsby Sub through Hamilton. Been nearly a year since I've seen a pure container extra through here.

  1. This photo brings back some related distant memories. http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=37697
So close, just need the 6 gone. :-)

  2. Reminds me of train 154…… intermodal and loaded autos to Buffalo..

  3. Really colourful catch. Looks like you were standing at the Lottridge Ave crossing (?) It’s always interesting to see an extra. It was about 2 hours behind the regular 421 which had fewer cars than usual. Made me wonder why they ran them separately when together they equaled a typical length 421.

  4. Gage Ave – can see Lottridge in the distance. Yeah 421 departed Hamilton shortly after 9. This was shot around 12:15. When I saw the extra lined I had a hunch it would be all containers so came here to show them all. Was awful thoughtful of them to cross over to the north! Haha

  5. Ahhh, Gage. Great location in the snow with all those colours. And the classic brick stack in the background just makes it. Sadly, there are so few of them left in Hamilton.
