After CN 3233 failed at Stevens Point, CN 2001 was called into the big leagues and placed on the point of U 26171 15 bound for the Kinder Morgan plant in Edmonton. Surprisingly the veteran Dash 8-40C stayed in the lead out of Winnipeg, taking the roundabout route up the PNL through Dauphin, Canora and Humboldt, before returning to the mainline at Saskatoon.
