CSX 6547 and 6505 lead a 23 car local along Pulteney St. in Mooretown on their way back to Sarnia after switching Forge Hydrocarbons in Sombra and Lambton Generating in Courtright. The large Generating Station at Courtright is being dismantled and scrap is being shipped out by rail. CSX switches the place about 2-4 times a month and are currently running there Sunday afternoons.

  1. How many cars is forge hydrocarbons shipping? Looks like they take a lot of cars for the ride from sarnia too.

  2. I’m not too sure, they only dropped two tanks with no pickup, although I believe they were locked out as they sat there for almost two hrs before just dropping the cars outside of Forge’s property. I believe the head end cars are from VIP, just along for the ride.

  3. I was going to ask about that carbon black hopper as it seemed a little out of place. VIP makes it make some sense.
