A comparison with Arnold's recent upload, taken roughly 45 years apart, shows the remains of CN's Niagara Falls Yard. Some stacks of rail, a wind sock, flood light towers, and an overgrown patch of land. Just a couple days prior to this shot, the Grimsby Sub got a slight increase in activity with the return of Amtrak's Maple Leaf with 50th Anniversary unit 108 leading for the first week or so.Facing the other direction off Victoria Avenue almost 70 years ago, the area was bustling with activity.

  1. This area may once again hum with train activity and Metrolinx has big plans for the Grimbsy Sub and Niagara Region :-)

  2. Nicely done. Someone else here posted a rerouted CP train or might have been a VIA one…almost in same spot as yours! Just letting you know for a possible triple threat for a time machine photo….????

  3. It is hard driving over that bridge now considering what used to be there. Amazing how big the trees are now getting in the old yard.
