GO Transit briefly leased a train set of double deck commuter passenger cars from the Chicago and North Western Railroad in April 1976 to test the concept of increasing passenger capacity and comfort without increasing the number of cars in a train. I can't recall how long the cars remained in Canada, but the test was obviously a great success.
