The 5583, 5507 and 5501 have only 38 loads of sulphur behind them, 12 short of the typical 50 that 3 GP38's would bring back from up north. Still, the town is alive with the sound of diesels in the 8th notch and having just honked for the 1st big crossing, the process has started again for the crossing with the highway. Having a hill coming into town was great, you were able to see/hear the units getting a real workout. Caboose 79487 on the tailend, photo taken by Redwater picnic area at 16:00.

  1. Very nice! That is a powerful power shot! :-)

  2. Nice… 5583 too… pre renumbering.

  3. Thanks Paul and Steve. Even three GMD-1′s pulling 30 to 40 loaded grain hoppers up the hill would put on a good sound show through town. Miss those days. :-)
