ETL 107 former GMDD 113/EMDX 117 is pictured on the 1530 job in Windsor as they switch around the confines of the Essex Terminal Railroad's headquarters. Complete with an old boxcar for storage, behind it is an old ETL hopper now used to hold sand for a sand tower. The tight confines of this shortline switching railway make for interesting scenes. I last visited here in 2006 with Ian and it would take me a long time to go back and try my luck again. A neat railroad - and dare I say they are Canada's oldest continually owner/operated shortline? (Guelph Junction is older, but they don't operate). Discuss below!

  1. the last time I saw ETL 107 it made me recall the TV show “Pimp my Ride”. There can’t be too many SW1500 with dark tinted windows.

  2. Aha and so it is!! wow. Maybe they’re trying to be like a tow truck operator.

  3. Did this unit go recently for rebuild ???

  4. You got that Caution sign dead on Stephen! It looks like it was Photoshopped in afterwards!

  5. Mike I believe so, but I don’t have info on exactly when. It has “107″ on the cab now as opposed to ETR’s prior practice of no numbers under the cab. It certainly got some paint somewhere..

  6. Perhaps the windsor crew know?

  7. Very interesting image
