Caption: Across the river and along the road noted on the far bank in my photo a couple weeks back at the CN Athabasca River bridge, the Canadian Northern Alberta alignment became Township Road 510A or Old Entrance Road, and the former Entrance depot was still in place when I visited on Monday 1979-09-24, seen here looking westward towards the bridge. This was part of Canadian Northern Alberta’s Lucerne subdivision, retained by CN from the Athabasca bridge eastward to a gravel pit at Bliss, abandoned in 1932.

To my surprise and total delight, that 1914-built depot survives forty-five years later in 2024, relocated a bit farther back from the river and railway grade onto a new foundation, and now part of the Old Entrance Bed ‘n Breakfast Cabins operation.
