CN Q 18051 27 highballs through Greenshields after a quick crew change in Wainwright and a meet with Q 18521 27 on the double track. CN 3331 is one of two units featuring logos from CN’s past; The round Canadian National logo is a modification of the Canadian Northern (CNoR) logo and was utilized for a few years after CN’s inception in 1919. Both retro logo units CN 3309 and CN 3331, typically operate in the Chicago to New Orleans corridor, staying close to Homewood for executive train service and on rare occasion escape that corridor in freight service. And yes, the “CNoR heritage” unit is flying down the old Grand Trunk Pacific mainline - home rails for the Canadian Northern are about 45 minutes north of this location on the Blackfoot and Vegreville Subs!
