This shot took weeks in the making and many attempts to get it right. It has to be cloudy, (wrong side of tracks), it has to be a westbound, it has to have an engine, (not a GO cab car), and before my pick up time for the grandkids. The only real shot at this is CN 540 or a Via in daylight hours. On this day, I finally, after just over an hour of waiting and freezing, saw the headlight around the bend. CN 4725 with CN 4906 head through Guelph Station on their way back to Kitchener with a nice reflection off the glass shelter.

  1. Your perseverance paid off with an excellent image !

  2. Bill, you got a double header race going on there. Nice catch.

  3. Nice work.

  4. Thanks to everyone

  5. Nicely done !

  6. Well done, some very good imagination at work here. Is this the turn-around way freight returning from Canwell near Acton ? Have not been to Guelph Station for a number of years; when were the new signals put in and is the track switch at the east end of the double track now CTC controlled ? Thanks for posting, John

  7. Thank you guys also. Mr. Host or Mr. Patterson can probably give the correct information on the switches and signals. I do know the north platform is not in use yet.
