Caption: While modern aluminum subway cars don't require all that much in terms of paint, the old 1950's steel Gloucester-built G1 subway car fleet needed a full coat and more.
Here, TTC G1 subway car 5097 sits inside the paint shop at Greenwood Yard, having recieved bodywork, window masking and some primer paint touch-up work. A fresh coat of "subway red" will soon follow, and all the proper TTC lettering and numbering.
