Caption: Freshly minted from London: GO Transit F59PH 521 sits outside the shop buildings at GMD's London, Ontario locomotive assembly plant in fresh paint. Part of an order of 16 units built in 1988 (GO 520-535) based on the freight GP59 with a separate HEP generator, a safety cab and full-body cowling, they would be followed by three more subsequent F59 orders that would take over GO's commuter service for nearly two decades.

That white stripe would end up being far higher than the stripe on the coaches (not even). From what I heard, by the time this was discovered, it was far too late to change it (not sure if this was covered under warranty). When they got rebuilt, the stripe matched the level on the coach cars.
I’m also not sure if this was specified on the painting diagrams.
No way, this was the day I was born. Pretty neat!
DoctaPinklaces, there might have been a typo in the date (taken 1988, not 1998)
