Caption: Down at the roundhouse: where there once were steam engines taking on coal, a train of CN RDC "Railiners" sits parked under the Spadina Roundhouse coal tower in downtown Toronto, that was still standing and partially outfitted with sand pipes for sanding diesels. The roundhouse can be seen in the background beyond the Spadina Avenue overpass, servicing the passenger units, switchers and RDC's operating on CN's passenger trains out of nearby Toronto Union Station.
Today there's a large baseball stadium here (Rogers Centre/Skydome) and no shortage of condos on the former "railway lands" in downtown Toronto that were cleared in the mid-1980's. CN RDC-1 6119 (originally built as an RDC-3) went on to work for VIA, but ended up scrapped with many others in the IRSI RDC purge/liquidation of 2016.
