I have become convinced that whoever surveyed the Bala Sub had a serious drinking problem. North of Washago, there is no straight track.....just an endless sea of 35 mph reverse curves. It's a constant stream of 9000-foot junk trains with the Canadian mixed into various sidings. What a relief it must be for northbound to get on CP's Parry Sound Sub, and open the throttle....to whatever ridiculous restriction the bean counters have applied.
