Yard units idle in Sarnia at sunrise, new power set is now up to four units with a pair of GP9RM's and GP38-2's. Nice to see the GP9's again as they are not as common now, they wont be around forever and the zebra stripes on the 7524 still look decent for a paint scheme from 30 years ago. Why they felt the needed a four unit set I'm not sure. CN 7052, CN 7016, IC 9607, CN 7524.

  1. Remarkable to see those old hump units (the 7500′s) running around doing what they were really intended to do.

  2. the 7500′s float around now just like other yard units, there’s usually one kicking around in Sarnia although I don’t think too many are still in the old zebra stripes, makes me wonder why they didn’t keep the 500 series slug boosters with the 7500′s? surely would have been a fuel savings over running a 3 or 4 set of units. Sarnia yard was run by 7200/200 GP9/slugs for years on their own without the need for these “big sets”
