Merry Christmas to the people of the North and the people of Ontario! Doug Ford has delivered a Christmas present for you. A brand new Siemens set for the return of the Northlander! Two via sets are moving in the yard, also Siemens, and retired HEP-2 equipment has begun to fill VIA's storage space in Toronto.

  1. Wow, a “Steven Host Special” shot ! Look at all the colour, everything nicely framed. “In with the new., out with the old”, this is “the new generation “ in passenger train travel in Ontario. Not so new GO trains, new VIA train sets and the new ONR train set, what more could have been added ? Nicely shows the comparison in paint schemes between the VIA and ONR Siemens train sets, and no less than three VIA sets in this scene; altogether four passenger train sets, quite a record. And there is the “old”, old HEP VIA Heritage cars parked in the lower right corner. Well done, thanks for posting ! John

  2. Thanks John. Both VIA sets were moving at the same time actually! I would have preferred an old set moving but that’ll just have to come later when train sets #2 and #3 arrive later in 2026. Lots of opportunity.
