Caption: Shot during the 1978 TTC strike, VIA train 632 from Union to Stouffville pauses at Markham's 1871-built station. Originally a Toronto & Nipissing Railway structure, it has served passenger operations for the Midland Railway, GTR, CNR, VIA Rail, and presently GO Transit.

I remember that madness back then. I rode the GO trains from Richmond Hill with thousands of others to Union Station. GO did a great job and substituted double deck equipment for the single level cars that were normal on the Richmond Hill line. Thanks for posting.
