Yep, at one time VIA ( aka Your Government) did care to serve medium sized communities....
Eight passenger trains daily – six Budd, two conventional, (and the International was on the Dundas)

Brilliant capture! Its a shame what became of our passenger rail service…
I love the drive up service.
Amazing capture from long gone era (both literally and metaphorically)
Those were great trains to work.
I remember seeing those RDCs when my family first moved to Stratford. At the time, moving from small farming town of Petrolia to this medium sized (yet seemed bigger to the 8 year old me at that time) certainly wasn’t an easy adjustment. Thankfully, the principal of my school also had an interest in trains, and to help me adjust took me to the station (with parents permission). Sad those days are now just memories. No more RDCs, and well….no school board would give permission today.
