Originally put into service by NAR in 1960, later renumbered by CN (to 1079, then 1179) was donated by CN in 2014 to the Alberta Railway Museum, and cosmetically restored to its original NAR paint scheme.

  1. Its great to see this unit restored and at the museum, Im just disappointed it cant be restored to its actual NAR specs. (A-1-A trucks, etc.)
    Maybe the museum can trade the BCR C40-8M to west coast museum for a possible ex-NAR SD38-2 which CN is still using.
