This was one for the 'fans, with CN's Grand Trunk Heritage unit leading a VIA Siemens Venture set on the Halton sub on what was a completely cloudy chase, until they went north on the Halton sub. We had a suckerhole that lasted about an hour, but they sat in the hole at Ash for, almost an hour, waiting for a meet. Watching the clouds slowly roll in none of us were sure if we'd even get the sunshine, 2 minutes after the train passed the sun would be gone for good. *phew*.

Caption: CN's Grand Trunk Heritage unit leads a P276 with a Siemens Venture delivery, rolling by the construction site of what is soon to become the Milton Intermodal Terminal. Chasing from Paris, it was cloudy all the way until Aldershot, when the sun came out, but the only chance of catching up to it would be a meet on the Halton. A meet indeed was scheduled at Ash, but they would wait almost an hour for the westbound to come, and a few minutes after it passed me on the bridge at Brittania Road the sun basically disappeared for good. This scene has been further changed as the CN overpass is now complete, and track installation for the new terminal should be continuing into Spring 2026.

  1. Great capture Stephen!

  2. Very nice Stephen, like the wide open expanse in the background. Thanks for posting.

  3. Thanks! That wide open expanse is now gone, as a large overpass is completed where the piers are.

Soon more tracks will be installed and the terminal should be taking shape
