Caption: VIA Rail’s transcontinental train #1 pauses at Sioux Lookout under a crystal-clear winter sky as locomotives 6448 and 6457 take fuel. The snow is dry, white, and squeaks underfoot with every step — a sure sign of deep cold. Though the mid-afternoon light makes the scene look almost mild, temperatures sat at –28°C with a –38°C wind chill, making even a moment without gloves a test of endurance. Passengers step off briefly while the Sioux Lookout station anchors the scene at left.

Looks like you had great weather on your recent journeys on VIA 001 The Canadian, and VIA 693/692 The Hudson Bay.
Nice that you got to get a head-end shot in Sioux Lookout.
Keep those great pics coming.
Clear skies some days, overcast other days; bitterly, painfully cold EVERY day!
