The first GO test train to be operated over the Oakville Sub is seen eastbound at CN's Port Credit station with cab car C751 in the lead. GMD GP40TC 602 shoves on the west end of the train.

With GO service preparing to begin on May 23, 1967, testing was getting underway starting with two runs on this day from Spadina - Oakville - Pickering and return. The same trip would operate again on April 10 for project officials. Beginning April 11, and accompanied by CN dynamometer car 69, GO equipment would head for Fort Erie to begin testing along the Cayuga Sub between Welland Jct. and Canfield Jct. to evaluate acceleration and braking. Mimico - Niagara Falls testing would take place during early May, with final test runs taking place Oakville - Pickering in the final days leading up to the start of service.

Prior to all this, GO 600 had been sent north to Fort William, where coaches were under construction by Hawker-Siddeley. This equipment was operated in testing over CN's Kinghorn Sub from Fort William to Longlac. Further information found in UCRS newsletters from March, April, and June, 1967.
