CN L551 heads north (timetable east) up the Halton at restricting speeds following a 394 in front of them. Power is CN 4131 & CN 4115, matching zebra GP9RMs. CN 4115 recently returned to the Toronto power pool after spending the better part of the last decade in Montreal. As far as CN locals go, I don't think you can top a duo like this in 2026. Both units are approaching 70 years old, a wild sight for a class 1 railway.

  1. Nice. In late February 4125 was swapped out for 4131. I was briefly there to capture all three units and move on planning to come back when they may leave – turns out they had to give a westbound a shove that stalled later that morning. So I went back , and imagine my disappointment when they came out at Snake only with 2 units. So that morning, for an hour, they switched the yard with all three units before setting off 4125, I would later find out.

But I did get it – video and a couple pictures.
