Caption: The engineer of CP Rail S3 6545 notches the little unit's throttle up, working around CP's Parkdale Yard in the Liberty Village part of Toronto. In the background behind the yard tracks is the John Inglis appliance factory, and other industrial buildings that once populated this area. 6545 was just one of many little steam era Alco/MLW S2/S3/S4 diesel switchers CP employed to handle industrial and switching duties in and around the Toronto area. In consist is extended-height CP newsprint boxcar 84981, increased in size to hold newsprint rolls stacked double high.

This area is now heavily gentrified, the last of the Inglis plant (and its iconic billboard sign) have been demolished, and the rail corridor through here is now a giant trench ducking under Strachan Avenue. The last of CP's Toronto-assigned Alco/MLW switchers were retired in the mid-1980's with the closing of CP's John St. Roundhouse downtown.
