Caption: Outside of rush hour, time moved a little bit slower in downtown Brampton, allowing one time to stop and smell the trackside reeds in the ditch beside the tracks, people-watch some of the questionable individuals living in the old rental houses along Railroad Street, or just sit on the station platform passing the time, either awaiting the arrival of the afternoon VIA trains, or for Gusto's Pizza nearby to open for lunch (yum, lunch). Right now it's VIA time, with #84 putting in its daily appearance downtown on the way to Toronto. VIA F40PH-2D 6403 leads the consist today, wrapped in its unique purple-red livery for CBC's 50th anniversary (in 2002, still celebrating five years later). The trailing LRC cars have almost finished clattering over the diamond as the train slows for Mill Street and prepares to make its station stop at 10:16am.
Normally we'd wait for VIA #85 to show up too, but we only had enough time for #84 before the afternoon GO bus ride to downtown Toronto beckoned us to the bus terminal nearby (often also populated by questionable individuals, some of whom were known to have been retailers, of a sort, for questionable substances. Partaking in such if offered was not recommended).
