Caption: A rather unconventional angle of Parkdale, with a few photographic faux-paux, but full of all sorts of rich content: CN GP9 4518 (a freight unit) pulling today's "Barrie Bullet" commuter train for the Newmarket Sub, is seen making its station stop at CN's Parkdale Station (replaced with a CN insta-shack a few years later). To the left is CN's old Parkdale freight shed. To the upper right is the roof of CP's own Parkdale Station building (closed a few years earlier in 1968) and yards visible in the distance. The main CN Weston Sub crossed the steel girder bridge on the right, the one on the left had a service track running north to CN's small yard and facilities nearby.

Below, traffic passes by on the busy Queen Street West, including TTC PCC streetcar 4485 on the Queen route. On the left site along the brick retaining wall under the awning, one can see the opening and stairway that led up from Queen Street to CN's Parkdale Station above (there was a similar stairway to access CP's Parkdale Station off Dufferin Street).

This neat photo was taken by the same unknown Toronto-area photographer who took this shot of GO 9807 from a slightly different angle, on the same day, in the same spot.
