Since I never had the opportunity to be on a train over this bridge, I can only imagine what it would feel like looking out the window. Not like being on a road where you can see the shoulders. Gads!! What a long way down.
This image is of CP 8227 and 8234, a pair of GP9u locomotives now gone from the system; on their way into Canada. When rail traffic left downtown Niagara Falls in 2000, the bridge was abandoned. Too costly to tear it down.

  1. Arnold, not from this bridge, but from the bridge “next door”, twice-a-day, you do have the opportunity to look down at the surging Niagara River as you cross the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge on Amtrak’s Maple Leaf. One-way fare in coach class from NF ON to NF NY, only $7. It’s a short but great trip !
