Caption: TTC H5 5737 pauses at Eglinton Subway Station, trailing a southbound train on the Yonge portion of the Yonge-University-Spadina line (Line 1 today). Eglinton Subway Station is the only station on the original 1954 Yonge Subway line that retained most of its Vitroline glass tiles, original to the station's construction. This photo was also shot before the TTC started removing the roof slats above the track area, due to the new TR trains' rooftop HVAC systems blowing all the built-up grime out (the stations looked better with the full roof slats though, the unfinished roof look left much to be desired).
