Caption: CN Dental Car 15095 sits at the end of track 27 at the southeast corner of CN's Spadina Coachyard, among a few old baggage cars (I get the impression a few of the out-of-the-way tracks here were used for storing old equipment retired, out of use, or for parts). The car had been converted from an old heavyweight sleeping car in the early 1950's to provide dental service to children across Northern Ontario. It was retired in 1977 and sold to the Toronto & York division of the Canadian Railway Historical Association, and was later moved to the CRHA's Harbourfront museum nearby at Bathurst and Queen's Quay for display. When the museum was dispersed in the mid-late 1980's, it was sent to Smith Falls to be part of the railway museum there (today the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario).

Visible in the background is Front Street, CN's Bathurst Street freight yards (before conversion to store GO equipment), many, many, many VIA/CN passenger cars, and a CN FP9, GP9 and HEP baggage set. CN/VIA's Spadina Coachyard closed in the mid-1980's when VIA's Toronto Maintenance Centre opened in Mimico, the yard was cleared and became a largely vacant parcel of land known as the "railway lands" for many years (it even hosted a downtown golf course), until condo development began west of Spadina Avenue around the early 2000's.
