Caption: A brand new GMD GP38-2 in flashy blue and yellow chevron paint brightens up a gloomy day down at CP's Quebec Street yard in London: Ontario Northland 1808, freshly outshopped from the nearby GMD London plant, sits awaiting forwarding to its owner in northern Ontario. It was part of a two unit order built in 1984 (units 1808-1809), numbered above ONR's existing eight units 1800-1807. These two were later production units featuring Q-fans, corrugated radiator grills, and angled "laundry chute" blower housings, on top of most of the usual "Canadian" spotting features such as nose headlight, tri-colour class lights, numberboard-mounted bell, vertical Canadian steps/handrails, and showshields behind the cab.
