To connect Vancouver Island railways and the continental rail system, a range of marine transportation was utilized. A regular visitor to Wellcox barge slip in Nanaimo was the unique SEASPAN DORIS (former Doris Yorke), capable of rail and highway vehicles, with an elevator for also carrying trailers on the top deck. In this view, SEASPAN DORIS is arriving Wellcox from Vancouver, with one boxcar first-up, on Saturday 1980-05-17.
