You can just taste the hazy, muggy, smoggy morning air some mornings in downtown Toronto, and this morning at Bathurst Street was no exception, with a thick haze visible in the air as CN local #543 puts in an appearance downtown, coming off the Oakville Sub and heading through the Union Station Rail Corridor to do some morning switching in the Toronto Portlands area to the east. Power today is GP9RM units 4107 and 7038, chugging slowly east amid all the morning GO Transit and VIA Rail action. Don't forget to see the Toronto FC play some soccer at BMO Field this May 2007. The Inglis sign's wise words to the sleepy morning commuters on the Gardiner Expressway this morning? "Your Dignity Can't Be Taken Away, Unless It's Surrendered"

    mberry, I think it was CanRoof Corp. on the Lake Shore trackage east of Carlaw

    Steve, I recall that it was, out of the small CN Mimico Yard at the south end. I think it also did the Uxbridge Sub and Scarborough/GECO Branch industries at the time too (as-needed), in addition to the Don Yard/Portlands area customers. Unfortunately I did not wander down there to find them…

    Thinking about it again, those centre beams could have been for Home Lumber on the GECO Branch if they were doing them that day. Hmmm.
