Caption: The weekend of September 13 - 15, 1963 marked a massive undertaking by the Upper Canada Railway Society, a 692.2 mile excursion from Toronto - Ottawa - North Bay - Temagami - Toronto, with seventeen coaches behind CNR 6167. With the train having run overnight from Toronto - Ottawa on the 13th, the train turned west and departed the nation's capital early on the 14th. 6167 would be removed at North Bay, with ONR FP7s handling the train to Temagami overnight. The consist returned to North Bay on the morning of the 15th, with 6167 taking over once again for the return to Toronto.
About halfway back to North Bay from Temagami, passengers have detrained for a runpast, as the pair of green and yellow FP7s round the curve at approximately mile 31.5, roughly the area of the settlement of Jocko. [Geotagged located not exact]

Impressive photo! From the sun angle indicating the Fall season is upon you here, to the curve shot, the eye gravitates to the old paint scheme of these engines, to CNs classic green / gold and black livery of its passenger fleet. I also see further behind, one of the cars in the *new* paint scheme with CNs new noodle logo in red, black striped across the window section all on white base. The fall colors just add to the event…and I’m sure it was just that. All 692.2 miles roundtrip!
