Caption: Another view of the old retro 70's GO Transit concourse in the basement of Toronto Union Station (1979-2015) off Bay Street, looking east from the stairs leading down near the entrance from the VIA arrivals concourse (right by the McDonalds). It's just after 10pm and patronage is a bit lighter, with only a small handful of GO buses and trains shown on the screens waiting departure (evenings were the best for these kinds of photos, that both avoided the crowds and security). Most retail stores and restaurants here were winding down operations for the night, with a few convenient staples like the Gateway Newstands still open. Some of the GO ticket booths are visible in the distance, near the Bell payphones(!). Since this was the early days of PRESTO, there were still lots of POP ticket stamping machines in abundance to punch your 10-ride or your 2-ride.
