It’s probably been about a decade since I last followed the original Goderich Exeter. Back then business on the line was still pretty steady, typically at least 5 days a week. Back then the line to Hensall and beyond was still on shaky ground but at least served regularly. Today things are different on the GEXR the line to Goderich see service once or twice a week while Hensall sees very limited service. This day I originally hoped to do the run to Goderich and back for old time sake but am thankful they took the more rare trip to Hensall. From what I hear the line is no longer served in the winter months due to heavy snow and bad track conditions. This day PRSL cab GP38 2117 is seen making the 10mph trip towards Hensall with four BNSF hoppers in tow. The train will return north a few hours later with the same number of cars. The train is seen passing farmland and grinding rust off the rails near Brucefield.
