Blenheim Blues, The Sequel. Over 2 years ago I posted an image from Blenheim of CN 514 pulling cars from "Thompsons", know known as "The Andersons". Most sequels are never as good as the original but I'll be bias and say this sequel was better. Like all sequels, building off the same story line as the previous, we start off with the ever so popular light power move. The crew ran light to Thamesville to switch out three cars that were part of the mainline's set off the night prior, run around said cars and spot them down the spur to Agris' "Crop Technology Centre". The crew would return light to Chatham, just beating VIA 78 to get the light down "The Spur". The slow, lumbering speed of 10 MPH afforded a number of shots along the way and the waning light afforded some unique lighting. CN 514 arrived Blenheim right as the sun was setting and I was able to fire off this image of a dark sky and burning horizon as the conductor walked out on Chatham Street to protect the crossing as the veteran engine started out over the crossing. They will spend the next half hour switching cars at ADM Agri-Industries Company before running around their cars and returning for Chatham.

  1. Now here is a view of Blenheim I haven’t seen before. Job well done, David.
