Caption: Perfect 'permacrud' type of day. I decided to check out the former C&O / CSX station grounds. So much change, since I was here 20 years before. Standing on the southern portion of the wye, last used back when these two roads exchanged traffic, this auto rack train snuck up on me. Led by a wonderfully coloured BNSF leader, I believe this was train 235.
NOTE: Both north and south signals, although unused, still stand protecting where the diamond once was between the CP and CSX. Of course, mounds of dirt were piled on either side of this once busy C&O Sub. No. 2. The little Chatham depot once stood to the left, but out of frame. The red brick platform was still in place then, as was most sidings in the CP yard.
