CN SW1200RS #1362 leads another sister with a short transfer train (including a van!) through Bayview Junction on a hot early afternoon in August 1997. SD75I 5656 can be seen heading a manifest train towards the Dundas Subdivision. The 1362 has long since left CN's roster, and the 5656 has been rebuilt into SD75IACC 8321. I always liked the SW1200s and didn't think they'd be gone as soon as they were, especially given how long the GP9RMs have soldiered on. The lighting here wasn't ideal which I knew at the time, as I was there to capture VIA train 73 from the other side of the bridge. This short train happened to appear, so I took what I got as a bonus regardless of the lighting. More examples of power I wish I'd have chased down and photographed now.

  1. Great photo showing Bayview before the addition of the 3rd track for expanded GO service! Love those old units too – and a caboose to boot!!
