Caption: For us seasoned guys, it seems that the grubby locomotives on CP have been around forever. Well, not quite, but close. The introduction of the AC4400CW grime carriers in 1995 was bad enough, but the delivery of the ES44AC units (in 2005) unfortunately carried on the filthy CP tradition as well. Pity, because they looked nice new.
It has been 21 years since the new 8700 series hit the scene. In this image, new 8721, 8722, 8723 and 8720 have arrived in Canada behind 9607 and 9760.
The scene is just a hair north of mile 23 where the train is just across the river out of the Welland Yard. Photo taken using Mamiya 645 with Fuji PRO400H film. I believe farm buildings obscure this angle now.
