Lunch Room - this is not the official logo for the Southern Ontario Railway - for North Hamilton it certainly looks the part. These words demarc the Lunch Room for the Southern Ontario Railway - or at least, you think it was used as a Lunch room. A small green Steel structure (fitting for Steeltown) with heavy wire protecting the windows, and a steel roof - akin to a bomb shelter. Perhaps the description fits the surroundings - the dimunitive structure dwarfed by towering Dofasco facilities: 10+ story Dofasco head office, Dofasco manufacturing, coil storage, and water treatmaent facilities which arch over Ottawa St in a menacing "Abandon hope all ye who enter here" way. Heavy rubber tired vehicles passing on the minute filled with 200+ tons of red hot steel coils from the rolling mills, and of course, plenty of dust.
Next photo will depict train traffic...
