Caption: A warm summer's day out finds TTC PCC 4503 (an A8-class car built by CC&F in 1951, the newest PCCs in the fleet) heading southbound on Oakwood Avenue in service on the Rogers Road route, passing a young woman waiting at the stop opposite for a northbound Rt.63 Ossington trolleybus. The Rogers Road streetcar service had but weeks until its final day of operation on July 19th, and subsequent replacement with trolleybuses.

Note that some passengers aboard 4503 have the "old fashioned air conditioning" on full blast (fun fact: aside from experimental cars, the TTC streetcar fleet would only get traditional air conditioning starting in the 2010's, with the arrival of the new Bombardier LRV streetcars. The PCC fleet, and later CLRV/ALRV cars were non-air conditioned).

The US-based Electric Railroaders Association held their convention in Toronto on July 5-6-7th 1974, and many visiting and local transit/rail enthusiasts (including Tom Dorsey, a US-based transit photographer) attended a series of fantrips organized over the three day period, including one using two TTC trolleybuses (on July 5th), a GO Transit fantrip over parts of CN (July 6th), and a multiple TTC PCC streetcar fantrip (July 7th).
